Tournament Formats & Rules
Understanding the technical specifications of our competitive events.
Classical Championship Format
90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move one.
Open to all players with a valid NZCF or FIDE ID. Club membership offers discounted entry.
1st Place: $1,500 + Trophy; 2nd Place: $800; 3rd Place: $400. Best Junior and Best Senior prizes also available.
$65 for Members, $85 for Non-Members.
Rapid & Blitz Series
Rapid: 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment. Blitz: 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
Rapid nights every last Thursday of the month. Blitz qualifiers held quarterly.
Strict adherence to FIDE Anti-Cheating guidelines. Electronic devices must be stored with the arbiter.
Junior & Community Events
Designed for learning and community building, these events feature flexible time controls and focused coaching segments. No entry fee for club members. Focus on sportsmanship and strategic development.

Confirmation & Rules
Receive your confirmation email and review the specific tournament rules and cancellation policy (full refund up to 48h before start).
